Jammeh’s Last Victim – or Not
When he disappeared six years ago, Siaka Fatajo became known as ‘the last victim’ of former President Yahya Jammeh’s brutalities. Except, at the time, Jammeh who has been held directly responsible for nearly 200 unlawful killings during his 22-year reign, was already in exile, in Equatorial Guinea.
Who then, is responsible for the disappearance of Siaka?
Unable to know his fate or trace his whereabouts, the family and relatives have been left in a limbo, without finding the closure of mourning. His second wife has remarried, but for the first wife, Jainaba, the search and wait continues as she nurses a shrinking hope that her husband is alive and will come home to her.
