Senegal vs Gambia friendly confirmed for March 31, 2026 – FSF says all set!
News that African champions Senegal will face Gambia in a friendly match in March 2026 has sparked excitement across the country, especially among football fans.
However, reports circulating on social media have raised doubts about whether the match will actually take place.
The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) shared details on their official Facebook page, announcing: “Two upcoming international friendly matches for our Lions in March 2026: 28/03 at Stade de France against Peru and 31/03 at Diamniadio against Gambia.”
Kara Thioune, an official of FSF confirmed to Malagen that the match is scheduled, with a slight adjustment: it will take place on March 31, 2026, at 7 p.m. He added, “All discussions have been finalized, and I can assure you the match will go ahead.”
On the Gambian side, Lamin Jassey, Secretary General of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF), told Malagen that discussions are still ongoing. He said, “Once everything is finalized with our partners, we will provide the necessary information to the public.”
While Senegal has officially confirmed the match, Gambia’s football authorities have yet to finalise the details. Fans are advised to wait for official updates from the GFF before making plans.
